Detailed Itinerary

DAY1
Welcome to Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft)

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our airport representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel in Kathmandu. After checking in, you'll have time to relax after your journey or explore the vibrant streets of Thamel. In the evening, meet your trekking guide for a comprehensive briefing about the Langtang Trek, including the trekking route, altitude safety, weather conditions, equipment check, and final preparations for the adventure ahead

Today is dedicated to preparing for your Himalayan adventure. After breakfast, enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Kathmandu's UNESCO World Heritage Sites, including Pashupatinath Temple, Boudhanath Stupa, and Swayambhunath (Monkey Temple). Later, return to Thamel to purchase or rent any remaining trekking gear. Your guide will conduct a final equipment inspection and answer any questions before the trek begins.

This is the first day of our trekking and our journey begins from Kathmandu(Buspark). We leave Kathmandu early in the morning and drive to the north, following the Trishhuli rivers for 6 to 7 hours. The road is not easy to travel. After hours of driving we will finally reach a small town called Dhunche and have lunch and take some time to rest. From Dhunche, we will continue our journey until we reach Syabrubesi, where we spend the night before setting off on the trek the next day.

On this day we start our actual trek .After having breakfast we begin our journey from Syabrubesi to the forested trails of Langtang National Park. The trail passes by Langtang river along with Bhotekoshi. We will see a dense bamboo jungle, oak and rhododendron trees on the way. If you are lucky you might see the rarest animal red panda on the trail.

We go through small villages such as Bamboo where most trekkers stay for lunch and a short rest. The path steepens from bamboo and the journey becomes quite strenuous. After finishing the uphill, we will arrive at Lama Hotel(2470ml where we stay overnight.

After having breakfast, we begin our trek. The trail today gently emerges from the deep woods with the sounds of rivers and birds. On clear days you might see the snowy peaks and mountains. After some time we reached Ghoda Tabela (3,030m) .There are some lodges here, as well as the army check post. After that we will pass through the small Chyamki village (3230m) and walk past Chortens, water mills, mani walls, and prayer wheels which give typical village vibes. We will continue our journey to Langtang valley. Before that we will cross the old langtang valley which was destroyed by the 2015 earthquake. And this day we will stay in Langtang valley for the night enjoying the local foods and culture.

This is the shortest trek day of your journey. Today you will see interesting watermills and yak pastures as well as the great view of the mountains. We will reach Kyanjin Gompa (3,830m / 12,565 ft). at lunchtime and take some rest and freshen up to chill out or explore the Kyanjin area. Kyanjin Gompa is the last settlement of the trek. This village is surrounded by majestic Himalayan peaks, and is incredibly peaceful, offering breathtaking views of Langtang Lirung. For the night we will stay in a cozy hotel experiencing Tibetan culture and foods.

Today, you have the option of hiking toward Langtang Lirung base camp, or take another steep hike to Tserko Ri (4984m) or walk along the Langtang River toward the Langshisha Kharka or Langtang Glacier. And for those who want to do short hikes we have Kyanjin Ri (4,773 m) from where you can see panoramic mountain views. It takes 2 to 3 hours to reach Kyanjin viewpoint from the Kyanjin Gompa. If the weather is clear the view from there is breathtaking. And talking about of Tserko Ri it will  take 3 to 4 hours to reach Tserko Ri from Kyanjin Gompa and the trail is a bit challenging due to altitude and hike must start very early in the morning around 3-4am to get the best view of sunrise. Only a few trekkers can make it to Tserko Ri. From both viewpoints you will see unforgettable vistas of Langtang Lirung (7,227 m), Langtang II (6,586 m), Yala Peak, Dorje Lakpa, langtang glaciers, and other Himalayan ranges. After an adventurous day of exploration and photography, we returned to Kyanjin Gompa to relax and overnight stay and prepare for the next day of our journey.

After having breakfast we descend back down the same route as before. Once again we will cross the beautiful Langtang valley Village and Ghodatabela. The downhill trek is quicker than uphill but tough enough for the knees. After 6-7 hours of trek we will make our way through the high mountains, to the exhausted evening at Lama hotel. And we take some rest and have dinner in the Lama hotel and prepare for the next day's trek.

This is the official last trekking day. On this day we descend through forest trails, across bridges and small streams, as before. The air becomes heavier and warmer while descending. We will see the bamboo forest and beautiful mountain ranges from the trail. After walking for 6 to 7 hours we will finally reach Syabrubesi. And we will spend the rest of the evening relaxed, and having good food, and creating good memories.

This is the last day of our journey and today we return back to Kathmandu from Syaprubesi.

Following breakfast, we get ready and wait for the bus for Kathmandu. We go the same road, but at this time with different experiences. We start our trip with the views of mountains back to the city. Once we arrive in Kathmandu, we will drop you at your hotel with lots of beautiful memories.

After breakfast, depending on your flight schedule, our representative will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) for your onward journey. We recommend arriving at the airport at least three hours before your international flight.

As your unforgettable Langtang adventure comes to an end, you'll leave Nepal with incredible memories of breathtaking Snow caped landscapes,Tamang people, alongside smaller communities of Sherpas and Tibetan-origin groups. We hope to welcome you back to Nepal for another adventure in the future. Safe travels!

Trip Info & FAQs for Langtang trek-11 Days

General Information

The Langtang Valley Trek is located in the Langtang region of northern Nepal, just north of Kathmandu near the Tibetan border. The trail passes through the beautiful Langtang National Park, one of Nepal's most scenic protected areas.

The standard Langtang Valley Trek takes 11 days, although the duration can be adjusted depending on your itinerary, pace, and acclimatization needs.

This trek features spectacular Himalayan scenery, lush forests, alpine meadows, traditional Tamang villages, the famous Kyanjin Gompa monastery, glaciers, and panoramic views of Langtang Lirung and surrounding peaks. Wildlife such as red pandas, musk deer, and various Himalayan birds may also be spotted.

Yes. The Langtang Valley Trek is rated as a moderate trek and is suitable for beginners who have a reasonable level of fitness and are prepared for several days of mountain walking.

The Langtang Valley Trek offers an excellent mix of mountain landscapes, authentic local culture, and peaceful trails. Its close proximity to Kathmandu makes it one of the most convenient Himalayan trekking destinations while remaining less crowded than Everest or Annapurna.

Permits

To trek in the Langtang region, you'll need a Langtang National Park Entry Permit and a Trekkers' Information Management System (TIMS) Card.

Yes. When you book with us, we take care of all the necessary permits, and their cost is included in the package unless stated otherwise.

If you're traveling with our team, we'll arrange the permits for you. Independent trekkers can obtain them from the relevant authorities in Kathmandu.

Visa & Insurance

Yes. We strongly recommend comprehensive travel insurance that covers high-altitude trekking and emergency situations.

Your policy should include emergency medical treatment, helicopter evacuation, trip interruption, and trekking activities up to the maximum altitude of the trek.

Yes. Most foreign nationals require a Nepal tourist visa, which can be obtained upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport or from a Nepalese embassy before traveling.

Guide and Porter

Yes. Under Nepal's current trekking regulations, international visitors are required to trek with a licensed guide in the Langtang region.

Guides handle navigation, safety, local information, and altitude management, while porters carry your heavier luggage so you can trek more comfortably.

Accomodation

You'll stay in locally operated teahouses and mountain lodges along the trail. Rooms are clean and basic, with twin-sharing accommodation available throughout the trek.

Yes. Most lodges have electricity, and hot showers are available in many places for an additional charge.

Yes. Many teahouses offer Wi-Fi and charging facilities, although these services may involve a small fee and internet speed can be limited at higher elevations.

Food and Drinks

The trek includes freshly prepared breakfasts, lunches, and dinners featuring Nepali, Tibetan, Asian, and Western meals such as Dal Bhat, fried rice, noodles, momos, pasta, soups, eggs, and pancakes.

Yes. Vegetarian options are widely available, and vegan meals can be prepared at many teahouses with advance notice.

Boiled, filtered, and bottled water are available throughout the route. We recommend carrying a reusable water bottle and using purification tablets or a water filter whenever possible.

Weather

Spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) are the ideal seasons, thanks to pleasant temperatures, stable weather, and excellent mountain views.

Spring offers blooming rhododendrons and clear skies, autumn provides crisp weather and outstanding visibility, while monsoon brings rain and winter can bring snow at higher elevations.

Yes. The trek is possible in both seasons, but extra preparation and appropriate gear are essential because of snow in winter and slippery trails during the monsoon.

Health and Safety

Altitude sickness, dehydration, cold temperatures, and minor digestive issues are the most common concerns. Proper acclimatization and hydration help minimize these risks.

Yes. Since the trek reaches elevations above 3,800 meters, altitude sickness is possible. Our itinerary allows gradual acclimatization to help reduce the risk.

Our experienced guides are trained in first aid and emergency response. If necessary, we coordinate helicopter evacuation through your travel insurance provider.

Equipment

Bring quality trekking boots, warm clothing, waterproof layers, gloves, sunglasses, sunscreen, a reusable water bottle, a headlamp, personal medication, and a power bank.

Although teahouses provide blankets, carrying a warm sleeping bag is recommended, especially during colder seasons.

Yes. Trekking poles improve stability, reduce pressure on your knees, and make both ascents and descents more comfortable.

Payment

Booking at least one month before departure is recommended, especially during the peak trekking seasons. Last-minute bookings may also be available depending on availability.

A deposit is required to confirm your reservation, while the remaining balance can be paid before the trek starts or after arriving in Kathmandu. We accept bank transfers, credit cards, Wise, Western Union, and cash.

Yes. Our cancellation and refund policies are clearly outlined in our Terms and Conditions. Please review them before confirming your booking.

Transportation

The trek begins with a scenic drive from Kathmandu to Syabrubesi, which takes approximately 6–7 hours by local bus. Private jeeps are also available for greater comfort.

No. The starting point is accessible by road, so domestic flights are not needed.

At the end of the trek, you'll travel back to Kathmandu by local bus or, if preferred, by private jeep for an additional cost.
