By accessing our website or booking a trip with us, you agree to comply with these terms. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms & Conditions, please refrain from using our services.
1. Booking and Reservations
- All bookings are subject to availability and confirmation by Himalayan Shepherd.
- A booking is considered confirmed only after we receive the required deposit or full payment, as specified for your chosen trip.
- Clients are responsible for providing accurate personal and travel information during the booking process.
- Any errors in submitted information may affect your booking, permits, or travel arrangements.
2. Payments
- Prices are quoted in the currency specified on our website or quotation.
- A deposit may be required to secure your booking.
- The remaining balance must be paid before the start of the trip unless otherwise agreed.
- We reserve the right to cancel bookings if payments are not received by the specified due date.
3. Cancellation and Refund Policy
Cancellation by the Client
If you wish to cancel your booking, you must notify us in writing.
Refund eligibility depends on:
- Time of cancellation
- Trip type
- Expenses already incurred
- Permit and government fees
- Third-party service provider policies
Certain permits, deposits, airline tickets, and booking fees may be non-refundable.
Cancellation by Himalayan Shepherd
We reserve the right to cancel or modify a trip due to circumstances beyond our control, including:
- Severe weather
- Natural disasters
- Political unrest
- Government restrictions
- Safety concerns
- Minimum group size not being met
Where possible, we will offer an alternative trip, reschedule your booking, or provide an applicable refund.
4. Travel Insurance
Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended for all travelers.
Your insurance should ideally cover:
- Emergency medical expenses
- Trekking activities
- High-altitude rescue
- Helicopter evacuation
- Trip cancellation
- Personal accident
- Loss or theft of baggage
Himalayan Shepherd is not responsible for costs that could have been covered by travel insurance.
5. Health and Fitness
Many trekking and adventure activities require a good level of physical fitness.
Clients are responsible for:
- Ensuring they are medically fit to travel
- Informing us of any medical conditions, allergies, or dietary requirements
- Following the advice of guides regarding safety and acclimatization
We reserve the right to remove a participant from a trip if continuing poses a risk to themselves or others.
6. Passports, Visas, and Permits
Travelers are responsible for:
- Holding a valid passport
- Obtaining any required visas
- Meeting immigration requirements
- Providing necessary documents for trekking permits
We will assist with permit arrangements where applicable but cannot be held responsible for delays caused by incomplete documentation.
7. Changes to Itineraries
Adventure travel in the Himalayas is subject to changing conditions.
Himalayan Shepherd may modify itineraries due to:
- Weather conditions
- Flight delays
- Road closures
- Natural disasters
- Health or safety concerns
- Government regulations
Our guides will make decisions in the best interest of client safety.
